Typically the team of French polishers at TWFP doesn’t like to see wood intentionally destroyed, but we’ll make an exception for this art installation by German artists Köbberling and Kaltwasser. The duo has created a wooden sculpture of two Porsche Cayenne SUVs that look like they are in the middle of a crash.

We’ve written in the past about different wooden vehicles that people have built, from bicycles to a wooden DeLorean, but this is the first time we’ve seen these wooden wonders intentionally smashed… and still look good!

The artists created the cars from reclaimed construction timber and built them on site for the 2008 Graz’s Steirischer Herbst Festival. They have built many other art installations from wood, which we’ll share with you in future blog posts.

We think this sculpture looks great. The only thing that is missing is a little stain or French polish, but maybe we’re just a little biased.
